Char Siew Rice

Today seems there is not much advertising artwork to rush, so today I manage to join with my fella colleagues for lunch near by my office food court (normally I would ask them to "Da Bao" for me when I was really really busy).

When I stepped into the food court, I was begin headache coz I really no idea what to eat coz there's so much choices. As I walked here walked there like crazy ppl, then suddenly I saw a newly opened stall which is selling Hong Kong roasted pork rice... Yum yum... It had been a long time I didn't ate this liao... So Without any delay I decided to queue up (Yes... Singaporean likes to queue for everything) & order a plate of Char Siew + Seow Bak (Roasted Pork) rice.

When the foods was freshly served in front of me, I quickly snap some photos before it's all goes into my stomach. Overall It's very nice looking with some sliced BBQ char Siew + Golden & Crunchy Siew Bak (Roasted Pork), topped with some creamy soy sauce, then place a few sliced cucumber beside. Overall looks good with mixture of all those colors ;)

I really enjoyed the meal... mean while I could also imagine that I'm already in Hong Kong now...Yes... there's 4 weeks to go for my Hong Kong Trip... I'm started to countdown liao... I just wondering whether there's enough time for me to eat here eat there in HK since my schedule was very rush & tight... But never mind lar... I can go there again mah if my time & $$$ permitted... hehe :)

Botak Sensation

I had shaved out all my hair last night... Dun worry, It's not the first time like that liao... The main reason is because I had a roll act as Lord Buddha in our new musical performance which will be firstly presenting in Hong Kong soonest.

I'm much like to keep my head "Botak", coz it's really easy for me to manage. Thus, I'm also the one who easily sweat like pig, It's really inconvenience for me while my hair keeps wet when the time I sweat, It's rather looks like "Siao Lang" (crazy ppl) like that.

It had been about 10++ years I didn't comb my hairs liao... I really like to used my bare hand to gently touch on my Botak head & feel the smoothness on my head skin. But my fella colleague getting shocked when seeing me without any single hair on my head when I reach office this morning. They said I'm like a cancer patient, Some even said I'm much like "Cxxk Head"... Knn*@&*%#$!!!

Well I really can't imagine how will I looks when I grow my hair back, would it be like this:

Or like this:

Oh my... That's ridiculous! I prefer to stick back my present "Botak" hairstyle... But if I'm artistic enough, my botak head would also may becomes like this:

Rock-a-Rojak

Yesterday afternoon, my friend ST & I decided to have a tried on making one of the Local Delights called [Rojak].

Rojak 囉喏 is a fruit and vegetable salad dish commonly found in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

The main Ingredients we're using for making Fruits Rojak were Cucumber, Pineapple, Green Apple, Red Apple, Water Apple (Jambu air) & Turnip (Bangkoang), not forget also the most important "Belacan Shrimp Paste".

I also found that Singapore's selling Rojak even added in Taopok (puffed soya bean), Youtiao (fried dough fritters) & Taugeh (bean sprouts). But we didn't wanna added in all those, coz we're much missed our Original Penang Rojak.

Firstly, we cuts all those ingredients into bite-sized portion & place aside. Then we pour the shrimp paste into a large salad bowl, added in chillies paste, a Little bit of finely chopped Kantan Flower (Pink Ginger Bud) & lemon skin. If you would like it taste better, squish in some lemon / lime juices.

When the dressing is ready, then tossed it well with those cut fruits & topped it with chopped peanuts while serving.

This was whats we gonna present as our local delights during our coming Hong Kong conference carnival. I'm not sure whether they'll gonna like it or not coz they might feel weird for this... end up we comes up with the other option of Rojak:

Which is we seperate out the cut fruits & the dressing paste. coz I personally feel that it would rather looks much nicer...

Special thanks to all of my volunteer friends which willing to be our "White Rats". They even dared to try out our first-time-hand-made rojak & gave us some suggestion & opinions. I really appreciate that. I'm also feel so much fun while making & prepare foods.

Finally We all decided to choose on Option 1 & named it as [Rock-a-Rojak].

My Hometown - Kangar

I had been missing home badly nowaday, It's already 3 months since my last visited to my lovely hometown called "Kangar" (or "Kayang" in hokkien) last August.

Kangar is the state capital of Perlis, which located in the most northern point of Peninsular Malaysia. It is believed that the name Kangar was origined from a species of hawk named Kangkok (in Malay) or Spizaetus Limnaetu.

Although new building can be seen, but Kangar still retains much of its old world charm. The mixture of old and new shophouses, and has an elegant colonial State Secretariat Building and clocktower from the 1930s. Beside that, there's a few major landmarks like: EPF Tower (the tallest building in Kangar).

Kangar was also knowns as a business center in Perlis which trading mainly in seafood, rice, sugar, mangoes and other local fruits. Beside that Kangar was surrounded by lush green fields or golden yellow padi, ripe for harvest.

There's one you cannot missed when you travelled to Kangar, feel free to visit our "Pasar Malam" (night market) on every Wednesday. Pasar Malam is an open-air market which you could see those hawkers stalls located through out the road. It's was very popular in town because from there you could buy as many on local foods, local fruits, cloths, home appliens or even some cute cute stuffs.

There are also some places of interest found nearby Kangar:

Gua Kelam, Recreational Park

Gua Kelam, Kaki Bukit refers to the 370-metre long limestone cave at the small town of Kaki Bukit. Its name literally means "at a foothill (Kaki Bukit) lies a dark cave (Gua Kelam)". Access to the cave is by way of a suspension bridge. The uniqueness of approach, as well as the experience of walking along the bridge, make a visit to this place an intriguing and adventurous experience

Tasik Melati

Tasik Melati is a small but picturesque lake located in a partially marshy lowland about 8 kilometres north of Kangar. The lake is shallow. More than 150 sandbar-islands may be seen all over the lake. Sampans can be rowed to these tiny "islands". Elevated walkways are also found over the waters of the lake, providing vantage viewpoints and seatings for visitors. There is also a parameter walkway as well as telephone kiosks and toilet facilities.

The Snake & Reptile Farm

Perlis is noted for its large population of venomous snakes, the limestone caves and crevices offering the best of natural habitats for the slithery creatures. The Snake Farm at Sungai Batu Pahat houses a large collection of 23 species of live snakes in large open-air enclosures. In addition, there is a crocodile and a fish pond.

Padang Besar

This is a border town. It can be said with some degree of truth that Thailand and Perlis merge in this town, because the border is unseen although the relevant signboards and cheek - points bear testimony to the fact. The town is also the major stopover from rail travel to Thailand. Beyond the rail tracks is Pekan Siam - a bargain hunters' paradise. Besides agricultural goods, duty free shopping is also available in Padang Besar The town is filled with all shades and designs of textiles, footwear, handicrafts, decorative items, foodstuff, souvenirs, fruits and much more.

Welcome all of you to my lovely hometown - Kangar. I'm sure you'll be having lots of fun & great memories as well. Selamat Datang :)

Crazy Xmas Shopping

Last Saturday, I manage to ge myself a little free time to do my own bussiness, so ended up I decided to go for some shopping at Suntec City. What I had saw that, There's already begins with the Xmas sales liao... so happy coz got discount wor... I can shop like crazy liao... hehe :)

My first stop was at HMV, the largest CD stores in Singapore. I was there to look for Jacky Cheung's original cum limited edition concert DVD. At first, It's was very difficult to find this type of Original DVD nowadays... So Happy I had finally found it & get to know from the storekeeper there, that's actually the last copies left in the stores liao... Without any delay, I quickly bring it & rush to cashier to make a payment...

Then I headed to a Sportwear Store to get myself a pairs of new shoes. There's many types of shoe display around the store which makes me face some difficulties to choose. I spend quite a while there and finally I had found this... my dreamed NIKE Airmax running shoes... The price was also "WOW"... cost me $125 ler (Original price was $178)... Altough was a bit expensive, but after when I tried it on, I can really feel that was very comfortable. At the end, I gonna take home with this.

After that, I walked down to Carrefour nearby to get my earlier Xmas gift. you know what, at first I had found the Remoted Helicopter... Wow... this stuff was really popular recently. Thus the price also not very expensive, only $69.90 nia... very worth to buy lor... I had ask the promoter there to teach me how to operate, It's easy to controlled, end up I picked it up & trow inside my empty shopping cart... ho ho ho... my first Xmas Gift finally :)

Suddenly I had saw there's a counter which selling some brand new IT stuff, There's was having a promotion as well. So I go to take a look... There's many IT products were sold in very reasonable price eg: Mp3 players, Ipod, Digital Cameras, Camcorders, Laptops, PCs & the very hot seller [PSP players]. I was actually planning to get myself a D.C. long time ago, so since there's a promotion, so it's time for me to get one NOW! At first I was really no idea to buy which one, too expensive that one i cannot effort pulak, so I decided to get it in moderate prices. I had try on the display set one by one, end up I found this: Olympus FE270

Although It's not really "Tok kong" (superb) enough, but I like it in light weight & user friendly. Plus, there's also many free gift given during purchase, got Tripod, screen protector, 2GB thumbdrive, 2x1GB XD memory card, Battery charger set & a unique shopping bag. All these was sold in $299 only, So This gonna be my 2nd Xmas Gifts.

Yeah... finally I finished brought myself those Xmas preasent liao...but, after when I return home, I started to realise that I'm getting broke liao... haha... almost half of thousand to spent within my half day shopping. Hmm... had to save money again for my 2nd shopping strike in Hong Kong soonest... hehe :)

Seeing is believing?

Yesterday I had read through an article regarding "The world's most expensive dessert". Here's some sharing plug from Reuters:

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A day after New York City came up with a $1,000 bagel, a local restaurateur unveiled a $25,000 chocolate sundae on Wednesday, setting a Guinness world record for the most expensive dessert.

Stephen Bruce, owner of Serendipity 3, partnered with luxury jeweler Euphoria New York to create the "Frrozen Haute Chocolate", a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive and exotic from around the globe.

The dessert, spelled with two Rs, is infused with 5 grams (0.2 ounces) of edible 23-karat gold and served in a goblet lined with edible gold. At the base of the goblet is an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds.

The sundae is topped with whipped cream covered with more gold and a side of La Madeline au Truffle from Knipschildt Chocolatier, which sells for $2,600 a pound.

It is eaten with a gold spoon decorated with white and chocolate-colored diamonds, which can also be taken home.

I can't believe that, there's someone willing to spend about USD$25,000 for such ice-cream, It was ridiculous! USD$25,000 (SGD$36,100) already enough for me to visit Kacang & JLE in Japan liao... Wow... too bad I didn't have such "Hock Khee", but if there's "Haagen Dazs" branded ice-cream for me, I would surely happy for all day long liao... :)

If you ask me to try this luxury "Frrozen Haute Chocolate" desserts... I would rather feeling "stressed" than enjoying... hey hey... you know what I had found? if you spelled backward from the word [Stressed], it would become [Desserts]... so amazing is it... hehe :) So from now on, try to think of [Desserts] when you getting [Stressed].

Hereby, share with you my special stressed free dessert called: Marriage B&A... Enjoy a nice & pleasant weekends my friends :)

[Before Marriage]

Ah Beng: Wow! so great, I had been waiting for this since very long time...

Ah Hua : Shall I leave you?

Ah Beng: No, You better don't think of that!

Ah Hua : Would you kiss me now?

Ah Beng: Definetely... It would be more than one time!

Ah Hua : Would you beat me in future?

Ah Beng: Honey, did I told you not to say this again...

AH Hua : Do you Love me?

Ah Beng: It's more than I can say....

Unexplained Experiences....

Although Halloween had passed a weeks ago, but today I would like to share with you all something related to my personal unexplained experiences...

Recently, I much enjoyed watching "Guai Tan" at Youtube... It's a very popular Incredible Programme in Hong Kong. Get to know that the shooting team were also arrive in Penang for some incredible hunt... They'll gonna search through the haunted places & some horror experience happened island wide... Stay tune, the Penang series will be starting next week... Really look forward for the coming episode :)

More Series of the show, Click HERE!

Now talked about my horror or weird experiences, I'm not really sure whether I had ever seen those thing before, but for sure, I can really feel that they are indeed exists in our human world...

I remember last time when I was in secondary school. there's one day, I was having a tuition & some activities goes on until very late at school, as when I was entered to toilet which located nearby my classroom...I can feel that there's very freezy around me... as I was really gonna "explode"... so I didn't care about that and quickly rush over for my business... at first, I saw the doors there were all close, so I try to push on the second door, It was locked... Then I try on the next one, it seems slightly open & when I decided to walked in, suddenly the doors was like been pushed from inside, I'm also been hit by door & almost fall down to floor. I felt there's something weird happened, coz there is totally no one found in the toilet. When I try to push on that door again, that door is locked inside... OMG, I suddenly feel like "mo kui chang"... I quickly rush back to my classroom & my face turned very pale... When I told all these to one of my malay classmate when we stepped out from school, then he began to tell me that, there's indeed got those stuff staying in the school, especially at the 3rd toilet I mentioned.... The school's "Uztaz" told him these before...Wah.. I really scared at that time... I began felt sick the next day... my mum decided bring me to the temple nearby my house for some prayer...

Then few years ago, I'm already worked here in Singapore liao... that time I was very active in one of the buddhist voluntary centre. If I not wrong, my temple is having a very grand Hungry Ghost Puja ceremony during lunar 7th months. I had been instructed to standby near the main altar. my duties mainly is to make sure the joss stick & candles must be lighted continuosly along the ceremony. During that period, I suddenly feel like someone had slapped my back, when I turned my head back, there's no one there & I tried to ignore... then a while, same thing had happend again & I feel dizzy. from there I started to know that there is something's wrong... luckily there's one venerable walked by & ask me to stand far abit from the main altar. When after finished the whole ceremony, I told my experience to the venerable I meet just now, He smiled & told me that he indeed saw those being crowded the place especially near the altar there, that's why he began to ask me stand out from there....

Until now, I was never forget those horror experience I had in my life... I believe you all more or less might had such unexplained experiences also right? feel free to share with us in the comment box :)

Life & Death Study

I had been inspired by my lecture - Ven. Hui Kai during my long distance study last night. Recently we're study through a tele-conference live from Taiwan on every Friday evening. The topics we're mostly talked about is [The Meaning of Life & Death Study]. So probably my today's post seems a bit serious & bored.

I had been doing some research online, there are several information which really helps for my study & thesis. Firstly I had found the definition about [Thanatology]:

Thanatology is studied as a means towards the end of providing palliative care for dying individuals and their families. According to the World Health Organization, "palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness," involving the "treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual." Thanatology recognizes that, ultimately, death is inevitable. It works to develop guidelines to ease the process of dying.
~~from Wikipedia~~

During our last night lesson, there are few Books which strongly recommend by our lecture as well.

1. [Life After Death]
The question of whether there is a life after death is not an issue of scientific concern, for science only deals with the classification and analysis of sense data. While man has been conducting scientific inquiries and research, in the modern sense of the term, for only the last few centuries, he has been familiar with the concept of life after death since time immemorial....

2.[The Meaning of Death]
we must create our own meaning for our lives regardless of whether or not our lives serve some higher purpose. Whether our lives are meaningful to us depends on how we judge them. The absence or presence of greater purpose is as irrelevant as the finality of death. The claim that our lives are 'ultimately' meaningless does not make sense because there is no sense in which they could be meaningful or meaningless outside of how we regard them. Questions about the meaning of life are questions about values. We attribute values to things in life rather than discovering them....

Had you ever think of probably how many years would you be lived in this world. 100++? 90++? or lesser? Do you really care about your ages?

Suddenly, I finally got an Answer deep inside my heart! It's really doesn't any matters that how long I'll be lived in this world... the most important is How you gonna spend you life right every minutes. Does you life meaningful to you every moments? When you feel that there's no regrets on every moments in your life, you would definitely lived happily & fear nothing while facing death or even shorter of life.

"Don't just only focus onto the [Lengths] of your life, But please focus into [every moments] you had in your life. Wisely spend your every single moments & filled your life with no regrets, therefor there is nothing to fear about when facing Death..."
